Join us this spring in the studio and around the city of Hartford as we learn new art-making techniques, dance moves, and build our next production with you, our community!

These workshops are free and do not require any previous experience to participate. All ages welcome.

Saturday, May 23, improve your motor skills through an interactive youth-led workshop with Layavinyasa Indian Dance. This FREE workshop features classical dance hand gestures (mudras), energetic folk traditions, and fun Bollywood choreography. At 1pm, multi-disciplinary Artist Devonte Kunzika teaches a FREE introduction to Crochet workshop.

Both workshops are at Night Fall Art Studio at 207 Garden Street. Registration is required via the button above! The studio will be open that day from 12pm until 5pm for creative activities and community. Stop by!

Layavinyasa is a woman-led organization that builds bridges between people of different cultures and forges new paradigms using Indian art forms. Through the medium of dance and music, Layavinyasa collaborates with artistes of various genres to create a tapestry of productions that engage and educate audiences on diversity, inclusivity and other topics – all of which draw the community closer.

Devonte Kunzika is a 26-year-old Angolan-American queer and non-binary local artist. He opened up his artist shop Kitoko Blooms (kitoko meaning “beauty” in Lingala) after teaching themselves how to crochet 4 years ago. They offer fiber art creations from flowers, wearables, and plushies as well as paintings and original poetry zines.

Join us at Night Fall’s Art Studio (207 Garden Street, Hartford) as we celebrate National Creativity Day! At 11am, Night Fall Collaborating Artist Savana Jones will help us limber up our bodies and minds with stretching, movement and mindfulness. Participants will then help Night Fall Collaborating Artist Samuel Ferri generate ideas based on our 2026 show themes by doodling on our studio windows. Jess from Play All Day Kids will lead sensory-friendly activities and crafts. If the weather permits, we’ll even be outside on the sidewalk with chalk, hula hoops, and more!

There are many other wonderful events happening in Hartford on May 30. Be sure to start your day with Night Fall and then go out exploring everything our beloved city has to offer creative spirits!
